Xbox One Elite Controller: Elite Console Upgrade Might Be Worth It
If you didn’t pre-order the $150 Xbox One Elite Controller, chances are you haven’t been able to find it anywhere. The Elite Controller has been sold out at retailers since it’s release on October 27th, 2015 and is currently going for $250 to $300 on eBay. Microsoft underestimated the demand for these controllers, but after getting stellar reviews from the media and users alike, chances are these controllers will be really hard to find throughout the holiday season.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on this controller, your best bet might be to just upgrade your console to the $500 Elite Console, which comes equipped with a 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive built in storage, and of course, the Elite controller. The Elite console boasts a 20% increase in boot up time from sleep, and faster loading of apps and games, and double the capacity of your launch console which only came with 500GB storage.
Still not convinced? How about if you traded your old Xbox One or PS4 in and got $250 towards the new console? Until November 15th, 2015, Gamestop is running a promotion where if you bring in your old, working Xbox One or PS4, you will get $250 towards a new console. To sweeten the deal, from 11/6/15 to 11/8/15, they are including an extra standard controller and a free game of your choice (Black Ops III or Halo 5 anyone?). Let’s just hope the console stays in stock until then.
The Xbox One Elite Console bundle is available now from Microsoft Store and Gamestop, and will be available at other retailers on December 1st, 2015.
